Be your own pet***

Betta: Can we have a new cat? I'm going to call it Gandalf.

Parent (in word-of-god voice): No.

Betta: Oh, why not?

Parent: You're leaving soon and I'll be the one looking after it.

Betta (peevishly): You would come to love it in the end.

Debated wisdom/viability of hiding aforementioned cat in room. Decided that such actions (as well as above conversation) do not reflect mature adulthood, although this household sorely needs the cool aloofness of a haughty independent feline to balance the slavish dependecy of two geriatric dogs.

***Disclaimer - this post title is actually the cute-as-pie name of a real life band!

I don't think you should get a cat. Remember your previous one? Satan? That was... you know... enough cats for ten lifetimes

hey hey someone in jakarta has internet! Glory be :)

Um, someone should tell you the only reason I would only get a cat is to vex and torture you.

Come home soon - we'll wear tight dresses and go out.

I think as a general rule of thumb, adults don't have to ask their parents for permission.

No wearing tight dresses. Only very loose frocks and jeans. Triple layer. Thanks.

jk.

Duh, this is Ma-layyy-sia!!! People living with their parents until they are approaching 40 is normal! (I personally have the acquaintence of such a person. He's strangely well-adjusted)

Me and zilla' keep our hijabs in the closet. We know there are people out there who dig that look.

lol :)

maybe "normal" is too strong of a word? :)

i mean, "hi mom, i brought this cute chick home, i'm going to be doing the freaky in my home, that is, if its okay with you..?" is abnormal.

but, "hi mom, i want a cat" is?

haha ;) liberate yourself! come to san francisco. everyone's artsy and free. the other day i saw a dog shagging a mouse and i think the mouse was on top.
